Hi again!

Communication is a funny thing. Today I was in the process of setting up this field trip for next year (because I was under the impression that you needed to schedule a year in advance) , when the person on the phone informed me that for Saturdays, no registration is required! So, if everyone is agreed, we will move forward with this trip. I'm planning on Saturday, March 27th, at 10:00am. The Michigan Historical Museum is located at 702 West Kalamazoo Street, two blocks west of the State Capitol in Lansing. this is an excellent museum on two floors, which covers the history of our state from prehistorical times up to the present. Included are great displays on mining in the UP, which give a pretty good idea of what miners had to go through in the late 1800s.

Here is a link to the museum's home page. http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-54463_18595_18596---,00.html

The plan is to meet in the museum parking lot at 10:00am.

Please email me with any questions or suggestions.

Hi Everybody!

This weekend members of our club (including yours truly)  will be at the Flint Area Science Fair, at Kettering University in Flint. We will have tables set up on Saturday March 6th, demonstrating cabochon making, and faceting as well as other skills related to our club. For more information, click on this link. http://www.flintsciencefair.org/

Our meeting this month will be on Thursday March 18th. For this month's program, Lee Kirby will be talking to the club about "Why?" When asked what this meant, he just said, "You have to show up to find out." This should be interesting. Hope to see you there!
